Think ServiceIt must be my age that every time I talk about service to young new comers they think I’m crazy. Sometimes it’s so frustrating trying to educate them about proper car maintenance, one after another come to my shop and all they are concerned is about oil changes which is fine,But brake bleeding, what's that. You should see the condition of some of the Brake systems I find in most of the cars that come in. There was this particular Corvette the emergency brakes just rusted away, the car was inspected two days before it came in to my shop by an official N.Y.S. Inspection Station. Brake fluid should be changed at least once per year the ideal time would be spring or fall the problem is that we forget the moisture build up that takes place through the seasons and the heath caused by brake friction which dissipates the moisture content of the hydraulic system and creates air pockets. The only way to get rid of air pockets is to bleed the hydraulic system it's like burping a baby after milk fed. The chassis geometry should be checked at every oil service intervals, how many pot holes have you hit the last 5000k, the wheels should point at angles recommended by the factory not where they point after you hit a pot hole. I'm sure sometime you have noticed the front tires how worn they are on the inside. Suspension components should be checked at every service intervals. Neglected air filter change robes you of few miles per gallon and you save nothing by not changing it at right time. Cleaning the throttle body and injectors effects the performance and fuel consumption of your Automobile. The ignition time curve effects performance and mileage. Every time I am in conversation with new clients about correct car maintenance they always say that I am too particular and too attentive to details, it is really not necessary to maintain the car so regularly. Well next time you fly which tech/meccanico you rather have check the airplane before take off me or somebody that doesn't care about proper and on time maintenance.

Timing Belt Free Safety InspectionWhat is a timing belt? Timinig belts have replaced timing chainson many of today’s engines..Both belts and chains ensure that crankshaft, pistons and valves operate together in proper sequence. Belts are lighter, quieter and more efficient than chains. Why replace the belt? Like other components, timing belts wear out. Proper maintenance requires belt replacement at regular intervals--before they break. Where are the belts located? Timing belts are on the front of the engine protected by a plastic or metal cover. When should belts be replaced? When a timing belt breaks, the engine stops. Replace belts before this occurs. Most manufactures provide a suggested service life and replacement schedule for this critical component. How do I know if my car has one? Your vehicle manual may tell you, but you should ask your mechanic--he will know for sure. What is a “free-running” engine? If the timing belt breaks, the engine stops no mechanical damage occurs, usually all that is needed is a new belt. What is an “interference” engine? If the timing belt breaks, mechanical engine damage occurs. Resulting in expensive repairs or engine replacement.

Le Quattro StagioniFour Major Engine oil Service IntervalsThe Ultimate Protection-for-Engine Longevity MOTOR OILS for SPRING-SUMMER-FALL-WINTER The oil in your engine does two main jobs. The first is to protect the moving metal parts from excessive wear and the second is to keep the engine cool. The oil lies in a very fine film over the moving parts keeping the surfaces from touching and wearing. With so much moving metal, the temperature in the engine is extreme and the engine oil absorbs the heat and transfers it through the system and in some HI-PERFORMANCE Automobiles the engine oil is passed through special OIL RADIATORS where it can disperse the heat and return to the engine. To double-check the condition of the engine the Technicians at AUTOSERRA analyses the oil throughout the year at each oil service intervals (FOUR SEASONS) to check for levels of wear and the moister build-up in the engine oil. It is extremely important to change the oil and filter at least every three months because of moister build-up and if you drive more than 20K per year it should be changed more often. In addition to the engine, the environment in your TRANSMISSION is intense to say the least. At AUTOSERRA we provide transmission oil capable of controlling these excessive levels of heat and protecting the tightly-packed parts from excessive wear. All fluids are added to factory guide lines specs. A full inspection of the brake system, exhaust, suspension mounts and alignment, steering rack, electrical charging system, clean battery terminals, rotate tires where applicable, check inflation level and road test
